Exercise Routines For Every Body by Joe Winiecki

This is a great site for exercise routines that you can do with your whole class in addition to your adaptive students. Mr. Winiecki has made numerous podcasts that feature various exercises and movements for every month of the year. It is very cool and you should check it out at his site or download at iTunes.

Molly and the Sugar Monster

Need some help with a fun way to teach kids about limiting sugar intake and nutrition? We found a site called Molly and the Sugar Monster which does an audio podcast on iTunes and on the web that helps make it cool not to want too much sugar. Kids respond well to it. We wrote to them and they sent us our very own podcast addressing our school by name. Check them out!

SOAR

The Student Online Achievement Resources website is a tool I learned about today that is open to military children, their parents, and classmates. The site gives helpful online resources for at-home learning activities. Parents can get info from sites such as the Department of Education and other educational resources while students and their classmates can get tutorial lessons on skills they may need to reinforce. Check it out!

Money For PE

You can never have enough money for your program and most of us have less money than ever before. We went from a budget of $250 per PE teacher down to $50. Next year we are expecting $0 unless it comes from grants, fundraising efforts, etc. We should share sites that can help with funding! Here is one I saw that updates quite frequently called Grant Wrangler. You should check it out from time to time. Another site you may want to consider is Flaghouse which is a PE equipment supplier that has great info on grants. Let's all try something this year and share our successes later!
